Three low to moderate intensity earthquakes hit Jammu and Kashmir’s earthquake-prone Ladakh region in less 24-hours on Monday morning. No casualties or damages have been reported so far.
As per sources, the first seismic activity of the day occurred in the morning at 4:49 am with its epicenter at the Ladakh-Xinjiang border, the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China in Ladakh region. The quack was on 4.3 Richter scale and of low intensity.
The epicenter was 247 kilometers northeast of Leh town. No loss has been reported so far,”
Another mild tremor was felt afternoon around 12 noon. The third one with moderate intensity hit the region in the evening around 08.13 pm with magnitude of 5.8 Richter scale.
As per scientists depth of third earthquake is 10 kilometers and it felt in Leh-Ladakh with epicenter somewhere near Chashul.
