Bandipora Rape Incident: MTI Tral students protest

Tral: Hundreds of students in Tral sub district on Tuesday held a protest demonstration against the rape of a minor girl in Sumbal area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district last week.

The students of Madrasa Taleem Ul Islam (Girls Wing) in Tral while chanting slogans, demanded justice to the victim girl & capital punishment to the accused person.

The protest rally was taken out from the Madrasa ground at about 1:30 PM and after moving through the markets of Tral, it ended peacefully at 2:00 PM.

A 3-year-old girl was raped in Sumbal area of Bandipora district, which is being highly condemned in and outside the state with people demanding stern action against accused for performing such heinous crime.

Earlier on Monday, protests were held in IUST Awantipora, GDC Tral and other institutions of South Kashmir, where students demanded justice for the victim girl and punishment for the accused.

Following yesterday’s protest, class work in Colleges & Higher secondaries of Pulwama, Anantnag, Tral, Bijbehara, & Pampore were suspended by authorities for today.
